Sunday<\/span> 9\/3\/00<\/span><\/p>\n Got up this morning at about 6:00. Broke camp, ate my last fruit bar (lousy dingo), filtered another jug of lake water, and I was off. Even after a day of it before, I still couldn\u2019t get over the fact I was walking up and down sand dunes, not hills. Amazing. After the two hour walk and 40 minute rest in Central Station, I continued north. The trail was decidedly different. More people, more litter, less appealing. Took my next stop\/rest at <\/span>Basin Lake<\/span><\/a>. Simply a beautiful lake, if it weren\u2019t for all the people. A whole bus-load, as a matter of fact. And now I can\u2019t help but to think of my parents in Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n After spending a half hour or so there, I made my way north again. Met up with Mess & Adrian on the trail, traipse into camp, and here I am. Right now I need to take out my contacts. They\u2019ve been in since yesterday. Maybe later I\u2019ll chronicle Hervey Bay and Fraser Ventures.<\/p>\n KC<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 9:30 PM <\/span>[Editor: This entry seems out of place chronologically. Perhaps it was an afterthought?]<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n So much for \u201cBushwalkers Only\u201d. The camp has been overrun by folks who need gas to start their fire. Oh well. Adrian & Mess are pretty cool. Adrian, the Canuck, knows more about American politics than I do! Anyhow, we sat up talking about all sorts of stuff: movies, The Far Side, gun control, beer. Good time, good company. Not a bad night.
