End of the line, more or less. <\/span>Cape Tribulation<\/span><\/a> isn\u2019t quite as close as I thought: 23 km or so. It\u2019s a $5 bus to get there, and only for an hour or two. But hell, I\u2019m in the <\/span>Daintree Rainforest<\/span><\/a>!<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m waiting on the frickin\u2019 lunch counter to open so I can eat & go do something. Therer\u2019s a free shuttle to the beach, but it\u2019s only 3.5 km from here. Theres also a 3 km hiking trail next to this place and a \u201cgood view\u201d of the sunset. The drive up on the Coral Coach was eventful. Our bus\u2019s clutch was going out as soon as we left Cairns. We stopped briefly in Port Douglas & I snuck into the resort for some food. We switched buses further up the road and made our way to the Daintree River. We crossed on a ferry, drove up the ridge, then stopped off at an overlook. Very nice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We got here. I checked in, & now I\u2019m finally eating. I may not be able to do the <\/span>Snapper Island<\/span><\/a> trip like I wanted. I guess fruit tasting is out, since I\u2019m not in Cape Tribulation. But hey, would a <\/span>scrub-fowl<\/span><\/a> walk up to me in Cape Trib as one just did here?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
