Woke up with the sunrise this morning — and about half a dozen other times before. At least once there was something next to my hammock, but it was too dark to see what it was. After the moon set, a cloud bank rolled in, so no stars last night. And more than once I thought the tinkling of the broken coral in the surf was somebody around the camp. I can\u2019t say I slept too well, but well enough.<\/p>\n

The sunrise was beautiful; more so than last night\u2019s sunset. I hope the slides I took turned out well. I think that\u2019s only the second or third time I watched the sun come up. I should have tried to get one of those sunrise climbs on Mt Waring. So that\u2019s twice now I\u2019ve wished I was up for the sunrise \u2026<\/p>\n

Actually I\u2019ve been thinking about that subject a lot since arriving here on Snapper. I guess this whole experience reminds me of the Bahamas. How could it not? Coral, sand, boats, sunshine. Just add iguanas & Klick, and I\u2019m back in the <\/span>Exumas<\/span><\/a>. Oh, what a time. I could go for a <\/span>Goombay Festival<\/span><\/a> right about now. Yes indeed.<\/span><\/p>\n

But back to the present. At some point this morning we\u2019re supposed to climb to the top of the ridge to look for whales or something. Then we\u2019re to have \u00a0brekky, go over to the other side of the island for a snorkel, and then paddle to Shipwreck Cove for lunch. And then I think we head back. I believe there\u2019s another snorkel planned in there somewhere, but I forgot when. Kind of hungry. Mmm. Carrot cake. Shall I raid the eski? Oh, teas on. Never mind.<\/p>\n

Question: why are all of the tents in Australia teflon coated? They all look like emergency blanket pup tents. Kind of strange.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve also been thinking about Marc\u2019s <\/span>possible<\/span> arrival. I don\u2019t know. I guess he\u2019ll be here. I\u2019m kind of happy about it, but then again not so much. I\u2019ve grown used to traveling alone, and I was really looking forward to bush walking in the Blue Mountains. But at the same time, how could I paint my face at The Games without him? And only three days away! The excitement, I must admit, is building.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
