That\u2019s about the only reason I want to get back to Cairns.<\/p>\n<p>Checked out the Environmental Centre. Small, but nice. They had some good interactives, a well organized self-guided boardwalk, and a helluva cool tower. Didn\u2019t get as many birds up there as I had hoped to. The few that I saw weren\u2019t new, except for three. Saw a Sunbird, which was really cool. Caught up on most of my souvenirs and postcards at the gift shop. Bought myself a Cassowary T-shirt, and took lots of photos. I asked at the gift shop about proper field guides, but it would appear that none exist. I should sell my idea to Peterson\u2019s. Found out that there are a few things that actually eat the Cane Toad by gnawing on the legs or eating the stomach. They encouraged me to run them over if I see one. Told me many accidents were caused by people swerving to hit the damn things. Funny.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of T-shirts, I must have gotten half a dozen or so comments on my \u201ccan\u2019t eat money\u201d shirt. Before yesterday I only had one. How long have I had this thing? This place is pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s about it. I\u2019m signed up to serve &amp; go on the night hike tonight, and i\u2019m heading south in the morning. Kind of wish I saw a croc or two, saw the reef.<\/p>\n<p>Just ran out of time, I suppose. Lousy train. Ah, well. Next time. Next time.<\/p>\n<p>And now?
