Ooah! \u00a0I think I saw two ravens! \u00a0It was probably too far away to call, but I\u2019m checking off the Australian raven, as opposed to the Little Raven. \u00a0It was a big bird.<\/p>\n

But I digress. \u00a0On my first choo-choo train. \u00a0Not a bad way to travel. Of course I still have nearly 13 more hours on this thing. \u00a0I wonder if I\u2019ll be able to get off to eat. \u00a0Water would be good, too. \u00a0Oh, wait. \u00a0Chilled water is available in Car C (I\u2019m in G). \u00a0My deepest fears have been resolved.<\/p>\n

At the moment I share the car with 7 other people. \u00a0I\u2019m really not looking forward to the Olympic sized crowds next month. \u00a0It just better be warmer! \u00a0I heard last night from the German guy in my room that there was recently snow in the <\/span>Blue Mountains<\/span><\/a>. \u00a0Last night folks were walking around in coats, and it was dark just after six! \u00a0I need to pull out my <\/span>Garmin 12<\/span><\/a> and see how many hours of daylight there are currently. \u00a0Now we\u2019ve stopped in Hornsby. \u00a0Like the cider. \u00a0Mmmm. \u00a0Hornsby. \u00a0Oooh. \u00a0Rock Dove! \u00a0Train birding is cool.<\/span><\/p>\n

Had an early start today, and an early finish yesterday. \u00a0Had dinner at the Central Cafe last night. \u00a0Decent food. \u00a0That place is really nice. \u00a0Used the internet facilities to give Marc an ultimatum. \u00a0Turned in around 7:30 or so. \u00a0Met a German and an Asian (from Melbourne, he said. \u00a0His English tells me he wasn\u2019t born there) I shared the room with. \u00a0Nice blokes. \u00a0Up this morning at 5:30 after a good night\u2019s sleep (finally!). \u00a0Showered, shaved, and out the door. \u00a0This ride will be both pleasant and relaxing, I believe. \u00a0Some nice rolling hills out to the east of us at the moment.<\/p>\n

This is great. \u00a0Riding the rails in Australia! \u00a0What a trip! \u00a0If only I had more time over here. \u00a0There\u2019s just so much to discover here. \u00a0A whole different culture, history, climate, time\u2026.. but I guess that\u2019s what world travel is all about.<\/p>\n
