Finally made it back to the beach. Well, not quite yet.

OK, now I am. Things have been moving at a rapid pace. Yesterday, what did we do? Ate becky I think. Made our way back to Darling. Took some pictures; it was a nice day. Today is too. Like Queensland. Well, almost. Got a UPS pin for knowing what UPS stands for. Spoke with Marc a bit, as I alluded to last night. Had some guy get pictures with my hat. The hat is quite popular with the masses. Plenty of comments & Aussie cheers.
Went to our 12:30 volleyball match. Huge line to get in, but we walked right up to a gate as they opened it. For some reason they weren’t checking anyone’s bags. That made me uncomfortable.
The first game featured Russia and Yugoslavia. Good game, lots of talent … except for Sack-Off or Yakov or whoever. Number 10. He could serve, and that’s it. The Russians won 3-1. The Cuba v Netherlands was an awesome game. Fast paced, full of action, spirit. The Dutch were all wearing bright orange, chanting Holland cheers. It was great. I had to route for Cuba, the underdogs. They lost 0-3, but all three were close.
That was about the time the drinking started. And it continued until I went to bed. On our way to Homebush for gymnastics, we picked up a 6 pack of VB.
Ah, walking the streets of the Olympic City, 4:30 in the afternoon, beer in hand.
Wow, I can’t even do an entire entry anymore. So we went to Homebush Bay for gymnastics. I got caught with my last beer at the security check, but the guy was cool. So we walked around, snapped some pictures, met a guy from Jersey. It was alright. We finally made our way into the venue, had more to drink, & watched the scrub competition.
Between the beer, the experience, and the height (6th last row) it was very surreal. Took the train back to Central, had a few drinks at the Scubar. Met two locals who Marc enjoyed keeping company with. Tried to see a Latin Band, but too late. Had pizza, pissed at a hotel, walked to the Quay, took the train home.
This bus is too freakin bumpy.
